Vielleicht wisst ihr, wie es sich anfühlt, wenn man an einem Ort ankommt, der sich wie zuhause anfühlt. Mit Zuhause meine ich: Angekommen. Ein Ort, an dem man seinen Rucksack abstellt, sich auf das Bett wirft und einfach nur sein kann. Genauso ging es mir, als ich MGM Wilderness erreichte, ein so gastfreundlicher Ort mit wundervollen Inhabern.
Ein herzlicher Empfang, Freude über das zufällige Zusammentreffen hier an einem der wunderbarsten Orte, an denen ich bisher sein durfte. MGM Wilderness wird von einem Ehepaar geführt. Elsabe und Ihr Mann betreiben die tolle Villa, direkt am Strand gelegen mit enorm viel Herzblut, Hingabe und tiefstem Engagement.

Maybe you know what it feels like when you arrive at a place that feels like home. By home I mean: arrived. A place where you can put down your backpack, throw yourself on the bed and just be. That’s exactly how I felt when I arrived at MGM Wilderness, such a welcoming place with wonderful owners.
A warm welcome, joy at the chance meeting here in one of the most wonderful places I have had the pleasure of being so far. MGM Wilderness is run by a married couple. Elsabe and her husband run the great villa, located directly on the beach, with an enormous amount of passion, dedication and deepest commitment.

Auf dem Zimmer gibt es Kaffee, Tee und Milch sowie jeden Tag eine frische neue Flasche Wasser. Ein Schreibtisch lädt zum Blog schreiben ein 😉
Das Bett zum Ausschlafen und ausruhen. Durch die riesige Fensterfront schweift der Blick weit aufs Meer hinaus. Die breite Schiebetür lässt die Luft einströmen, die das Salz und das Meerwasser in sich trägt. Ich liege minutenlang da und höre einfach nur zu.
Und als sei das noch nicht genug, hat das Bad neben einer monströsen Dusche auch noch eine tiefe Badewanne.
Ein Restaurant gibt es nicht, ich finde es nicht schlimm denn Elsabe gibt viele Empfehlungen im Ort, zu denen ich in einem weiteren Beitrag mehr erzähle. Dafür eine wunderschöne Terasse mit kleinem Pool, eine Küche udn einem „Wohnzimmer“, in dem man sich tagsüber oder abends aufhalten und lesen kann.
Das Frühstück ist so so schön und lecker zubereitet. Jeden Tag frisch zubereitet von Elsabe und Ihrem Team. Heidelbeeren, Erdbeeren, Kiwi geschnippelt, Brot, Toast, frisches Ei – egal in welcher Form und mit allen möglichen Zutaten, die man haben möchte: Paprika, Pilze, Zwiebeln, Käse, Tomaten. Rührei, Omelette, Spiegelei. Was das Herz begehrt!
Eine absolute Empfehlung, wenn man Südafrika besucht und vielleicht sogar die Garden Route entlangfährt. 5/5 Sternen mit einem Herzchen dazu.

The bed for sleeping in and resting. The view stretches far out to sea through the huge window front. The wide sliding door lets in the air that carries the salt and sea water. I lie there for minutes and just listen.
And if that wasn’t enough, the bathroom has a monstrous shower as well as a deep bathtub.
There is no restaurant, I don’t think it’s a bad thing because Elsabe gives many recommendations in town, which I’ll tell you more about in another post. There is a beautiful terrace with a small pool, a kitchen and a „living room“ where you can sit and read during the day or evening.
The breakfast is so beautifully and deliciously prepared. Freshly prepared every day by Elsabe and her team. Blueberries, strawberries, chopped kiwi, bread, toast, fresh egg – no matter what form and with all the possible ingredients you want: peppers, mushrooms, onions, cheese, tomatoes. Scrambled eggs, omelettes, fried eggs. What your heart desires!
An absolute recommendation if you are visiting South Africa and perhaps even driving along the Garden Route. 5/5 stars with a heart.
