Slow Traveling Chile

I love slow food cuisine. Food that is made by heart and soul. And here I am, still in Chile and think about my journey during last 3 weeks...

„Slow Traveling“… I don’t know if that exists already or not. My travels here in Chile feels like slow traveling. I arrived Santiago on 15th December ’23, stayed one night and headed towards Atacama Desert. I enjoyed each moment, even those lying at the pool with a good book or just watching the rocks. Then back to Santiago for 2 nights to have time visiting the city and have some laundry there.

Next place: Magic Puerto Natales. It felt like coming home. It felt as if I belonged there, the perfect place to be. I miss it since I left. But again: I did some day hikes in Torres del Paine, I had a shot hike on Dorothea Hill, a loooong walk along the waterfront. Sitting in small cafés reading. Without any rush or need to put a lot of experiences into one day. I allowed myself to calm down, to feel, to see and really talk to people.
Valparaíso for 2 nights, then Pichilemu for 6 nights. I  was absolutely NOT in a rush.
Almost 3,5 weeks in Chile and I just visited 4 different places. I decided 2 days before where to go next and what to do. And yes, maybe sometimes you don’t get exactly what you want. But anyways, I love traveling like that. No rushing, no pressure „do this, do that! Oh, and you MUST GO to A, B, C!“ Not for me, not during this trip. Be curious about the moment and enjoy every minute in exact the state you are in!
Thank you Chile for having me. I will come back!
